Vicky is known for her unconventional approach to challenging ideas with honesty, humor, and grounded idealism. With a unique and nuanced perspective, she tends to find clarity in chaos and shine a light on deeper meaning, while relentlessly pursuing human growth for herself and others.
Before becoming a leadership coach, Vicky spent 15 years working with business and non-profit executives on organizational vision, strategy, communications, and governance. Her experience ignited a passion for lifting up leaders who are authentic, bold, and kind.
A few highlights from the journey that got her here:
Vicky's fascination with the human experience led her to pursue a B.A. in Psychology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. After college, she spent several years traveling the world, practicing meditation and learning about mind through Buddhism. Vicky attended and organized over a hundred short courses on meditation throughout the U.S. and Europe, and studied philosophy and Tibetan language at a Buddhist institute in India. For ten years she lived in a meditation retreat center in Wisconsin, supporting the center's activity and publishing books for an internationally recognized meditation teacher.
Throughout that time, she also spent more than a decade in the corporate business world, frequently challenging the status quo while navigating the power dynamics within different hierarchical structures. She gained insight into the incredible potential of humans united by a shared purpose and trust, along with the limitations of those divided by mistrust and self-preservation.
Along this journey she tried impossible things and experienced impossible results. In addition to immense joy and success, she also made her way through anxiety, depression, and burnout.
All of her life experience has led her to the strong conviction that we have unlimited potential, as individuals and as humanity, and to fulfill it, we need more authentic leaders in the world.
After a year of working with a mentor coach and training with the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), Vicky began coaching executive business and government leaders, specializing in stress reduction, conflict resolution, and leading with integrity.
To further her skills in helping people uncover their innate wisdom, she's also studying a psychotherapeutic approach called Compassionate Inquiry with Dr. Gabor Maté. A world-renowned medical practitioner, Maté is highly sought after for his expertise on addiction, trauma, childhood development, and the relationship of stress and illness.
VIcky is a seventh-generation Texan and mother of a delightful young girl. She currently lives in rural Wisconsin and travels often to Minneapolis and Austin, her hometown and home of many people she loves.
